Why I’m Running

I’m running first and foremost for my children.

I’m running for my mother, who didn’t pay attention to her health until it was too late.

I’m running for long life spent surrounded by family and friends.

I’m running for my husband, who runs and does so much more.  I’m so proud of him.

I’m running to wake up the athlete inside me.

I’m running to release the stresses of everyday life and hide in the solitude of my thoughts.

I’m running, because I want to.

  3. Those are great ambitions and reasons to run. I have another blog going at: chelsiemegan.tumblr.com. its called “surfrunlive.” Are resons for running are somewhat similar!

  4. Thanks for sharing this it was very powerful, and inspiring to read. And it really made me think, because I find myself doing a lot of things, but never taking the time to think why.

  6. Very well spoken. I run for the same reasons. I lost my mother to kidney cancer last year which motivated me to start running and eating better. I completed my first half marathon in January at Disney World. While I was training I developed a couple audio coaching programs that I have made available for people who need some motivation to run. Check them out! http://yoganosis.com

    • Not a fan of the hills myself…but getting to the top of them feels good! Keep up the good work! Thanks for the encouragement!

  7. Thank you for that inspiration. I run for those reasons and one more. I love running! I can’t tell you why, it is just wonderful to be out doors and participating rather than spectating.

    • The best part of getting in a rut, is when you get out of it! Keep those reasons why you run always in front of you and best wishes!

  8. I love running as well, in particular stairs. I only can recommend any one to add some type of running to his or her routine. It helps with stress, prevents becoming sick and boost your mood.

  9. I agree with so many of the things you mentioned in this poem, and especially with the part about running being a great stress relief for you. I like to tell everyone that running is like an anti-anxiety medicine for me; the more I run the less stress I generally feel.

I also like the part about running waking up the athlete inside you. What a great way to phrase things! I also never felt athletic until I began running, and now it has somehow turned me into a very athletic person.

Keep up the great work with both the running and the writing.

    Best,

    Korie

  10. It’s truly very difficult in this active life to listen news on TV, so I just use world wide web for that purpose, and obtain the most recent information.
